How can I become a member?
In order to be a member of BDC, you must be a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. You do not need any prior experience in dairy; just an interest in it! Members must complete all requirements listed in the constitution to become and remain a member in good standing. This includes working at World Dairy Expo and attending at least two meetings a year.
Why do I have to work at World Dairy Expo?
Because we are located right in Madison, WI, we have the amazing opportunity to be next door to the best dairy show and exposition out there. BDC runs a grilled-cheese stand right outside of the coliseum which is our biggest (and only) fundraiser every year. The WDE staff often depend on us to help them with several different things, which is why we have so many different positions for chairmen. Members have the option to complete their club dues by working at WDE.
Do you run Badger Dairy Camp?
Unfortunately, once COVID-19 occurred, we no longer have the opportunity to operate the Badger Dairy Camp. This was a combined effort with the UW-Extension program which no longer facilitates the camp.
